The Christmas tree is back in the storage locker, the garland is down and we still have the stretch of winter infront us. It's a great time to reflect on your holidays. I love Christmas time because it's the perfect way to catch up with old friends and family. Purchasing presents can be an intimidating task if unprepared. I love tackling it early to finish around the first week of December. Here is my checklist to find the perfect present:
- Make a list. I always find writing down the list of individuals that you'll be giving gifts to. This way you can plan for your budget accordingly. It helps to write a general amount you wish to spend on each person.
- Identify their interests. I always find it a lot easier to purchase gifts for people that have similar interests or like what's trendy right now. For the tough cookies (normally the Dads), start to take notes of what they've talked to you about. Once you see it in writing, it will help to enlighten some new ideas.
- Make a game plan. Prepare your route to tackle the better part of everyone one Saturday. Or better yet, wake up on Sunday and do some online shopping to avoid the crowds.
- Wrap ahead. Having a leisurely evening to wrap all your presents with a Christmas flick on the TV is a great way to finish everything. The only worry you'll have afterwards is if you should have one Christmas cookie or two.
