Amazing Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread

On Sunday, I noticed how many bananas my parents were hoarding so naturally, I decided to bake! It was raining so I made myself some tea and whipped up this incredible chocolate chunk banana bread with ingredients I found in their pantry. This is the perfect recipe to bring to the office, give to your grandma as a sweet gesture or just go to town and eat it all yourself.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees
  2. Lightly grease a loaf pan (I divided the batter into three mini loaf pans)
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon
  4. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar
  5. Stir the bananas, eggs and chocolate chunks into the bowl with butter and sugar
  6. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture until combined
  7. Pour the batter into the loaf pan
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack
