Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs for Superbowl Sunday!

Super Bowl 50 is upon us, which means it's time to start dreaming about all the guilty pleasures to be consumed. These slow cooker ribs are the perfect recipe for game day. They require very little effort so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time watching the game (or Beyonce!). 

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds of baby back ribs (I get mine at Longos and ask the butchers to remove the membrane)
  • A dash of salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • Barbecue sauce, enough to coat the ribs
  • Rib rub, enough to coat the ribs

Directions: 

  1. Season ribs with salt, pepper and rib rub
  2. Pour water in the slow cooker. Place ribs in after and then top with onion and garlic
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours
  4. Preheat oven at 375 degrees
  5. Transfer ribs to a baking pan with aluminum foil 
  6. Remove onion and garlic
  7. Cover barbecue sauce with ribs
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes 
  9. Serve with baked beans and slaw
  10. Get those sweatpants on and enjoy!
