Indian Spiced Turkey Burger & Avocado Fries

Summer is all about the BURGER (well, and soft serve) but it's important to create new twists on the classic burger to keep things interesting! This is another dinner ready in under an hour and it's paleo so it won't make you feel uber bloated (yay!).

Indian Spiced Turkey Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon of the Indian Spice Blend (2 tbsp of onion powder, 2 tsp of garam masala, 2 tsp of coriander, 1 tsp of sea salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes)
  • Springs of fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Portobello mushrooms for buns 

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey and indian spice blend until well combined
  2. Form the turkey into four 4-ounce patties and place your thumbprint in the center for even cooking
  3. Grill or skillet-cook the burgers for about 4 minutes per side over medium-high heat
  4. Grill portobello mushrooms to warm up your paleo bun!

Avocado Fries

Ingredients:

  • 4 avocados (pits removed) and sliced
  • 1/2 cup of almond flour
  • 3 eggs + 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 1/4 cups of panko
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and grease a baking sheet with coconut oil
  2. Add flour to a zip lock bag. Add avocado slices, seal and shake to coat
  3. Remove avocados from the bag 
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the panko, garlic powder, chili powder and salt
  6. Dip the flour-coated avocado slices into the egg wash. Next, toss them in the spice mix
  7. Place avocados on a single layer on the prepared baking sheet 
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes
