Gin Basil Caesar

I first tried this dreamy drink at the Long Beach Lodge in Tofino a couple years ago. It was one of those cocktails that you try to memorize the flavours so you can attempt to create it at home. This September, I had the opportunity to revisit the Long Beach Lodge and was so excited to have my favourite caesar. Unfortunately, the kitchen was all out of basil but I managed to snag the recipe!  



  • 6-8 basil leaves 
  • 1/2 ounce of worcestershire sauce 
  • 1/2 ounce of lemon juice
  • 1 ounce of gin (my favourite is ungava)
  • 2 ounces of clamato juice 
  • 1 teaspoon of celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt


  1. Muddle the basil leaves in a glass
  2. Rim a glass with celery salt and sea salt
  3. Pour remaining ingredients in glass with basil
  4. Lightly shake and strain
  5. Enjoy!
